Dungeons & Dragons comes to Dragonheir: Silent Gods’ player base in China on April 3rd
Roll initiative! An epic collaboration invoking one of the most recognized fantasy IPs is coming to China’s mobile gaming audience.
In collaboration with Yodo1 Licensing, Tencent and Wizards of the Coast are expanding their already successful event, uniting Dragonheir: Silent Gods and Dungeons & Dragons. Players in China will be able to explore these merged high-fantasy realms from April 3rd to May 13th.
By honoring its high-fantasy roots and bringing in some of the most recognized character and story elements from D&D’s well-known Forgotten Realms setting, this collab shows the grandeur you can achieve by recognizing the right match between a game and an IP.
Yodo1 Licensing first forged the Dragonheir and D&D partnership in 2023, launching to widespread success across varying markets worldwide. The collab includes heroes, D&D themed storylines, dice skins, Avatar frames, and in-game items.
Fantasy’s most renowned drow elf join the party
Central to the IP partnership between Dragonheir and D&D is the starring role of Drizzt Do’Urden, one of the most beloved characters from many decades of D&D lore.
Drizzt is a drow elf – a species of elf originally used as villains and antiheroes – who first debuted in R.A. Salvatore’s The Icewind Dale Trilogy over 30 years ago. The legendary ranger is a central figure to the D&D brand. His inclusion in the Dragonheir collaboration is an important element for strengthening the mobile game’s current base and pulling in fans of the genre who may not have played Dragonheir yet.
The collaboration story centers around Drizzt joining players in a quest to defeat Errtu, a demon (or balor) and another recognized entity from D&D stories.
Players will team up with Drizzt and his black panther Guenhwyvar to take on Errtu and his cultist minions. The event promises to be a high-octane showdown designed to merge Dragonheir’s gameplay with a story that’s instantly recognizable for long-time D&D fans and equally engaging for completely new initiates to both games.
